Some projects begin with a piece from our collection. Others begin with a sketch, an architectural requirement, an unusual dimension, a particular way of sitting — or simply an idea for something that does not yet exist.
Coral Comfort works with private clients, architects and designers to explore these possibilities. We help define the requirement, coordinate the development process with Bevergarden in Germany, and translate creative intent into a technically viable piece designed for its setting, use and purpose.
Bevergarden’s workshop combines decades of German metalworking and engineering experience with the flexibility of individual fabrication. Dimensions, proportions, finishes, upholstery and structural details can be reconsidered — and entirely new concepts can be explored where the project calls for them.

The concepts shown here are not current production models. They are design studies — explorations of form, structure, comfort, and outdoor use that may influence future Coral Comfort collections, including possible 2027 introductions.
Some concepts may also serve as starting points for bespoke projects. A client, architect, or designer may use one of these studies as inspiration, and we can explore how the idea could be developed, technically reviewed, and manufactured for a specific project.

A bespoke project can begin with a Bevergarden piece you would like to modify, a photograph, a sketch, an existing piece of furniture you want to reinterpret, an unusual dimensional requirement, a special upholstery concept, or simply an idea that does not yet exist as a finished product. We review the request with you, develop the concept together with Bevergarden in Germany, and translate it into a technically viable piece designed for your setting, use, and requirements.

Every bespoke project begins with a conversation.
The client shares the idea, intended use, setting, approximate dimensions, functional requirements, aesthetic direction, and any other information that may influence the project.
This may involve adapting an existing Bevergarden design or developing an entirely new concept.
Coral Comfort reviews the initial request with the client and identifies the key design, functional, and technical considerations before the project moves forward.
At this stage, the objective is not to finalize the design, but to understand what the client wants to achieve and whether the idea is suitable for further development.
Coral Comfort and Bevergarden review the project to determine whether the proposed idea can be developed responsibly and realistically.
The assessment may consider dimensions, intended use, structural requirements, load capacity, materials, fabrication methods, upholstery, site conditions, delivery requirements, and other project-specific factors.
Where necessary, practical or technical alternatives may be suggested to preserve the original design intent while improving functionality, durability, manufacturability, or safety.
Not every idea will be suitable for production exactly as first imagined. The purpose of this stage is to establish a viable direction before detailed design work begins.
Concept Development
Once the project is considered feasible, the initial concept is developed into a clearer design direction.
Depending on the project, Coral Comfort may coordinate sketches, visualizations, dimensional studies, material ideas, finish options, upholstery concepts, or other design information necessary to communicate the proposed solution.
The concept remains preliminary at this stage and may continue to evolve as proportions, materials, construction, and functional requirements are reviewed.
The objective is to give the client a clear understanding of the proposed design direction before committing to detailed bespoke development.

Concept Review & Preliminary Pricing

Final Specification, Price & Approval
The client reviews the proposed concept and provides feedback on the design direction.
Coral Comfort and Bevergarden then evaluate the concept in greater detail and establish preliminary project pricing based on the information available at that stage.
Preliminary pricing is intended to provide the client with a realistic indication of the expected project cost before detailed development begins.
Because bespoke projects may evolve during engineering and specification development, the final price is established only after the project has been sufficiently defined.
If the client wishes to proceed, the project moves into the Bespoke Development phase.
If the client wishes to proceed after reviewing the initial concept and preliminary pricing, a Bespoke Development Deposit equal to 20% of the preliminary project price initiates the detailed development phase.
The Bespoke Development Deposit is credited toward the purchase price if the project proceeds to production and becomes non-refundable once project-specific development has begun.
During this phase, Coral Comfort and Bevergarden refine the approved direction in greater detail. Depending on the project, this may include:

additional review with the client where questions or refinements remain
The client receives the external and functional dimensions necessary to understand and approve the finished piece.
Detailed fabrication drawings, internal construction details, engineering documentation, and proprietary manufacturing information remain with Bevergarden.
If further development reveals that an element of the original concept should be changed for technical, structural, functional, or manufacturing reasons, Coral Comfort discusses the recommended solution with the client before proceeding.
This stage transforms the approved concept into a clearly defined bespoke specification ready for final pricing and approval.
Once the bespoke development phase is complete, Coral Comfort prepares the final project specification for the client’s approval.
This includes the agreed design, confirmed overall dimensions, material and finish selections, upholstery and fabric specifications where applicable, relevant structural adaptations, production lead time, delivery arrangements, and the final confirmed price.
The final price reflects the bespoke piece as developed during the previous stages.
Any later client-requested changes that affect dimensions, materials, construction, upholstery, finishes, or other project requirements may require a revised specification, price, and delivery schedule.
The client then reviews the final bespoke specification and order.
The previously paid 20% Bespoke Development Deposit is credited toward the final purchase price, and the remaining balance becomes due before production begins.
Payment of the remaining balance constitutes the client’s approval of the final bespoke specification and authorization to proceed with production.
Once the remaining balance has been received in cleared funds, the project is released for production in Germany.

Crafted in Germany. Delivered to You.
Once the final specification has been approved through payment and all required funds have been received in cleared funds, Bevergarden begins production in Germany.
The piece is fabricated according to the agreed bespoke specification, using 316L marine-grade stainless steel as the material foundation for the U.S. collection.
Coral Comfort coordinates the project through production, import logistics, receiving, upholstery coordination where applicable, and final delivery.
Before delivery, the completed piece is checked against the approved project specification.
Depending on the scope of the project, Coral Comfort also coordinates final placement, white-glove delivery, and any project-specific handover requirements.
The result is not simply a customized version of an existing product. It is a piece developed around a particular person, place, requirement, or idea — then crafted in Germany and delivered as a completed bespoke commission.
Every bespoke commission is developed around the client’s individual requirements. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a bespoke commission does not include exclusive ownership of Bevergarden’s design, engineering, construction, or manufacturing rights.
Design and engineering solutions developed by Bevergarden as part of a bespoke commission may inform or contribute to future Bevergarden developments. Client-specific information and confidential project materials are treated separately and are not used as part of another client project.
Designs, drawings, trademarks, or other intellectual property provided by the client and owned or lawfully controlled by the client remain the client’s property and will not be independently used without authorization.
Where a client wishes a particular design or development to remain exclusive, project or design exclusivity may be considered under a separate written agreement. Bespoke commissions are subject to the applicable Coral Comfort Bespoke & Customization Terms and the Terms & Conditions incorporated into the client’s Quote.
