TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Comfort, tailored to the piece.
Every Coral Comfort cushion is made specifically for the furniture it belongs to. Proportions, foam construction, fabric, piping and detailing are selected for the intended use, setting and exposure.
Our upholstery is produced by specialist Florida workrooms and inspected by Coral Comfort before release. Whenever practical, upholstery production is coordinated so cushions are ready when the furniture arrives.
Specifier Resource: Architects, Designers, Hospitality and Residential Clients

Made for the furniture — not adapted to it.
Every Coral Comfort piece has a unique cushion pattern. We do not use standard sizes; instead, we pattern each cushion to the specific dimensions and geometry of the frame , ensuring a seamless architectural integration.

Tailored fit
Cushions designed to nest precisely within the frame geometry.
Concealed zippers
Strategically placed underside or edge zippers for a clean profile.
Attachment solutions
Integrated fastening discrete enough to remain invisible.
Coordinated details
Hand-finished piping and edge treatments executed for symmetry.
Comfort can be specified.
Supportive
For dining and upright seating.
Balanced
For general residential use.
Relaxed
For lounge and deep-seating applications.
All-Weather / Quick-Dry Construction
For exposed outdoor environments, cushion components may be specified to encourage drainage and faster drying after rain exposure.
Possible construction elements may include:
• reticulated or open-cell quick-dry foam
• breathable construction
• drainage-oriented underside
• outdoor-performance thread
• removable covers where appropriate
Final construction depends on the selected fabric, furniture type and exposure level.
Outdoor furniture shouldn't depend on upholstery to look complete.
Bevergarden furniture pieces retain their architectural character when cushions are removed — allowing upholstery to be protected from weather while the furniture remains outdoors.
High-Comfort / Protected Outdoor Construction
For covered outdoor areas, lanais and screened porches where direct rain exposure is limited, cushion construction can prioritize a softer, more residential sit while still using materials suitable for exterior environments.
Protected outdoor upholstery should still use exterior-suitable fabrics to ensure UV resistance and mold prevention.
What is inside matters.

Cushion performance depends on the entire construction, from the textile choice to the drainage strategy of the underside.
- Outer fabric cover
- Piping / welt
- Protective inner liner
- Polyester batting or comfort wrap
- Foam core
- Drainage or breathable underside where specified
A broad world of outdoor textiles.
Performance considerations may include
• solution-dyed fiber construction
• UV and fade resistance
• stain resistance
• mildew resistance
• water resistance
• cleanability
• abrasion performance
• hand and texture
• pattern repeat
• suitability for piping and tailoring
Performance characteristics vary by fabric and should be confirmed for the specific textile selected.
Coral Comfort can work with a broad range of established outdoor-performance textile collections. We are not limited to a single fabric source, allowing specifiers to select the texture, color and performance profile appropriate for the project.
Sunbrella is one of several outdoor-performance fabric sources that may be specified.

Customer’s Own Material
Designers and clients may propose their own outdoor-rated upholstery fabric. Coral Comfort will review the textile for width, pattern repeat, required yardage, intended application, outdoor suitability and compatibility with the selected cushion construction before acceptance.
COM acceptance is subject to technical review.
The finishing line.
Detailing defines the form. From the sharp geometry of a contrast welt to the subtle refinement of a self-piped edge, the finishing method is an architectural decision that impacts the visual volume of the seating.

Self Welt
Piping covered in the same fabric as the cushion for a clean, restrained finish.

Tonal Contrast
A closely related color adds subtle definition while maintaining a calm, coordinated appearance.

Contrast Welt
A stronger contrasting color emphasizes the cushion geometry and creates a more graphic, tailored expression.
Specified for the environment.
Upholstery construction is selected according to the intended exposure level and use of the installation. No single cushion construction is ideal for every environment; drainage, breathability, comfort and fabric performance should be considered together.
Exposed Outdoor
Direct rain and UV exposure call for drainage-oriented cushion construction and exterior-performance fabrics.
Covered Outdoor
Roof protection reduces direct exposure, but wind-driven rain, humidity and ambient moisture should still be considered in the cushion specification.
Protected / Lanai
Screened or well-protected areas allow greater emphasis on residential comfort where direct weather exposure is limited.
